REDD+

Arief Darmawan has been working for forest, biodiversity, land-use change and climate change issues since he was working as GIS Specialist at WWF Kayan Mentarang Project East Kalimantan in 2003. He was the member of REDD Special Team under the REDD Agency of Republic Indonesia (2013). Previously, he was also working under the same thematic task force under President’s Delivery Unit for Monitoring and Oversight (UKP4) (2010 - 2013). He earned Bachelor of Forestry from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), then Master and PhD from The University of Tokyo with special interest to Environmental Remote Sensing as well as Land-Cover Modeling using GIS. He is now a full time lecturer in the Department of Forest Science, Lampung University, Indonesia.
